Health benefits of Goji Berry

The Goji berry is a fruit of either Lycium chinense or Lycium barbarum. It is also known as Goji and Wolfberry. The fruit is used in traditional Chinese medicine. Warmer regions are suitable for its growth. The fruit is native to China and is predominantly grown in the Mediterranean basin, North America, Australia, Central Asia and Southwest Asia.

Health benefits of Goji Berry:
Goji Berry lower cholesterol levels, improve liver health, protect skin and brain cells from UV radiation and strengthen the immune system.  

Word of caution:
Goji berries may cause allergic reaction to few people. Warfarin and Goji berries can also interact and may cause bleeding. Aspirin, ibuprofen, heparin and paproxen users should avoid consuming Goji berries. Goji berries can also interact with certain antivirals, antibiotics, drugs related to heart and blood vessels, cholesterol lowering drugs, antidepressant drugs, anticancer drugs, osteoporosis drugs and hormonal drugs.
