Fig is a sweet fruit. Hundreds and thousands
of small seeds are found inside the skin. Ripe and dried fruits are suitable
for consumption. Warm climate is suitable for the Fig tree. The tree grows to a
height of 7 to 10 meters. The tree produces several unisexual flowers. The
flowers cannot be visible since they bloom inside the infructescence. The
edible fruit has a green skin and is 3 to 5 centimeters in length. Sometime the
sap may cause irritation to human skin. Turkey, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and
Iran are the major cultivators of raw figs.
