The origin of Golden berry is Peru and Chile. It is also known as Cape gooseberry or Physalis. Temperate and tropical regions are suitable for the cultivation of Golden berry. The yellow to orange color fruit is removed from its calyx. The fruit has mildly tart tomato flavor. The fruit is used in pies, puddings, sauces, jams and ice cream.
