Bulgur wheat is a cereal food which is made from the mixture of several wheat varieties that have been parboiled, dried and ground. Most often it is made from durum wheat. Bulgur wheat is also known as bulgur and burghul wheat. It has a nutty flavor taste. It is used in the preparation of soups, pilafs, bakery goods or as stuffing. Bulgur wheat is a commonly found in the dishes of the Middle East and Mediterranean Basin countries.
